If you would like to know more about the data for any shelter that is listed, whether graphed or not, please contact us at shelterproject@naiaonline.org
2008: Incomplete reports from Sacramento and Tehama.
2007: Alpine County, City of Berkeley, Colusa County, Lassen County, Madera County, Sacramento County, Sonoma County and Sutter County did not report as required by law. The following counties released incomplete reports: Contra Costa, Humboldt, Los Angeles, Monterey, Placer, San Benito and Tehama.
2006: Source: California Department of Health Services, Veterinary Public Health Section. Recent data has been received from the State of California as non-complying counties submitted their 2006 figures, providing the most complete reporting since 1991. Impound figures will seem poorer than before, while adoption and redemption trends will appear higher than usual. It’’s important to realize that from 1999 until 2005, on average 10-12 counties routinely did not submit their data to the state. For detail, please see http://www.naiaonline.org/issues/Caliifornia_Shelter_Statistics.htm
The State has not yet released the figures from Plumas Cty., nor the complete figures from Alameda Cty., Contra Costa Cty. and Placer Cty.
